mostly what makes a home "home" is love and presence. If you love, you can never not be "home" and I've always said "it doens't matter what house my parents lived in - I would always feel "at home" where they are..... it's a comfort zone. My children are the same way about it.
Actually, when I was a young married mom with my first child, who was about 2 at the time, I left him in the care of my mother while I went to get some groceries. He was at my mothers house, which I of course was very comfortable in.... when I got home, my mother told my son,"your mom is here" and he immediately gathered up his toys without being asked, and got his own diaper bag and stuffed his stuff in the bag. My mom said that he said Ok, I'm going home now....
It was a very cute story at the time, but in hindsight - it was quite profound for a 2 year old.

A sense of safety...comfort...love and ribbing from the people close to you!! A place where you could cry and feel okay about it.....a place where you could fart out loud and laugh about it!!!
Just creature comforts...it is supposed to be a safe place to land at the end of the day!!

A house is made of brick and stone, a home is made of love alone. That quote sums it up for me.

where I can find safety, love, happiness, comfort, warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer, nice cozy feeling. And of course somewhere I'm accepted for me and who I am.
