Hi. We waited a couple of days to name our bunnies so we could see their personality and that helped. You can also check out rabbit names at www.about.com and search on "pet rabbit names."

Rabbits need and want daily care and attention and are best kept indoors where you can be with him. Since he's a rescue I'd get an appointment with a rabbit savvy vet to get him checked and set up an appt. for a neuter if he hasn't been neutered. The vet may also have an idea of age, which is important when deciding what to feed him.

Rabbits need daily exercise, unlimited access to hay, plain pellets, fresh water, and a variety of greens. Stay away from pet store treats - almost all of them are bad for your bunny. Bunnies can be litter box trained - just use a cat litter box and line the box with newspaper and top with hay - do not use pine or cedar shavings or cat clumping litter as they are unhealthy for your bunny.

Here is an article that has a lot of good basic advice on care and behavior:

Have fun with your new bunny - they are wonderful!

There are all manner of supplies for pet rabbits. Feed him a rabbit diet, keep a heavy bowl of fresh water in his cage. They like to be on a solid surface rather than on wire and give him a snack of fresh begetables once or twice a week. As long as you pet him everyday, he should remain calm and friendly.

Put some straw or hay in the cage and keep it fresh - they like to burrow and straw or hay gives them the opportunity to hide in something in the cage.

As for a name, there is only one name suited to an animal with floppy ears - Eeyore!

i have a floppy eared bunny that i got around Christmas time i couldn't think of a name for her so i named her baby lol

you should get:
a cage it can stretch fully out in
shavings that aren't pine
a water bottle
food dish (try for one that can attach to the cage because bunnies like to tip thing over)
pellets
timothy hay
treats

at first you should let the bunny get used to its surroundings and not try to pick it up at first

i let my bunny run free around my room when i am supervising but she is litter trained so she climbs back into her cage when she has to go to the washroom

also watch out for clothes on the floor and wires because they will chew on any thing

I have always liked the name Bailey for a bunny and to have a rabbit you need a cage a water bottle food a food dish something for it to chew on and they love igloos. The little plastic hideaway igloos. If he likes to play you can get like little wood things for him to chew on and you can get toys like mirrors and bells. It is always nice to have little treats around also. You can go to a pet store and buy little yougert drops or fruit puffs BUT NOT THE CEREAL!!! Weird you can feed him fruit loops but not trix

GOOD LUCK!!!
