I love Kobe on the court, I don't think any serious basketball fan could deny that his intensity and skill puts him on the upper tier of players, even when compared to other superstars and hall of famers. He has energy and passion coupled with the ability to hit the jumpshot and the dunk. He can even distribute the ball beautifully when he feels he can rely on his team. I even picked him in the first round for my fantasy basketball team.
My issue with Bryant is his off the court attitude. You don't hear about it as much lately, but at certain times, such as abusing that girl and driving Shaq out of LA, he gets extremely smug and arrogant, and he is normally really smug to begin with. He CAN be a team player, and a nice person, but he seems to believe that he doesn't have to, and that other people should understand that.

People are saying Kobe is a selfish player, but if the people see a Laker game for once they'd see Kobe doesn't have the ball as much as people think he has. He makes a lot of points not by shooting many shots but he makes the shots he does take . Nobody hates Kobe Bryant he's one of the greates to ever play, and he will go down in history as a great.

I don't hate kobe as a matter of fact I like kobe but I believe that some people might hate him because of the sexual assault charges which I completely think that they were false and also because people think that he is selfish on the court but that is not true either. I've been to a lot of laker games and kobe allows the other players to participate as much as he does. Why do you think that Maurice Evans got 26 points against the Warriors this sunday? It was because definately kobe is not being selfish. He is averaging 7 assists per game. As for Shaq getting out of LA, it wasn't Kobe's fault. Shaq got out of LA because that was his decision.

I'm not one of them, infact I don't much care for basketball, but I would say he is disliked because he tried to paint himself as an altar boy and behind the scenes he was cheating on his marriage, that and the selfish conduct with the Lakers that got Shaq out of LA.
Why do you ask a question and then do not like the answers, you should have anticipated that before you posted the question.

I use to dislikie Kobe because he would not share the ball, but not anymore. He shares it alot more and many people dont like him because they have another " star" in mind and are jealous of Kobe.
Also, becaused of the sexual charges.~~~

The main reason is the rape charges. That will never be fully forgotten. One other big reason is that he is widely believed to be a selfish player, a ball-hog.

Its because mainly of the whole rape charges that were brought upon him.
Also, people see him as a selfish player (see Phil Jackson's book)

He has always been a selfish player, looking out for himself before the team, and he cheated on his wife. Those are pretty big reasons for many people to dislike him.
