He was a Mets announcer from 1999-2005. He was also a Yankees announcer from 1989-1994.

Tom Seaver is one of the Mets announcers, and has been since 1999.

Announcers usually travel with the team to provide commentary for their own network for away games.

No, he is no longer an announcer. He retired after the '05 season to Northern California, where he is from. He now operates a winery which he says was a lifelong dream for him. It's too bad, because his knowledge of the game, especially pitching was interesting.

Tom Terrific no longer broadcasts for the team, however there are several ex-big leaguers who do: Ron Darling, Keith Hernandez and Lee Mazzilli and of course Ralph Kiner.

He was an announcer for them but I think '05 was his last year in the booth.
