The baby will more than likely have brown eyes. The brown eye gene is very dominant, so unless your husband has the recessive gene for light eyes which it doesn't seem like, your baby will most likely be a brown eyed one. But there may be a slight chance it could happen differently.

if you child has blue or green eyes, your husband had better ask for a paternity test.

Blue eyes is a recessive gene. If both of you had blue eyes AND brown eyes in your ancestry, your baby would have a 1 in 4 chance of having blue eyes.

The only way your child could not have brown eyes is if someone in your husbands mother's or father's direct ancestry had blue eyes. Which seems unlikely if he is 100% Vietnamese.

I think the chances of your baby having blue eye's is close to nil. Brown is a dominating gene and blue is recessive. This mean that any to people who have a child if one has brown then brown will dominate over blue. I know how you feel. I would love for my children to have blue eye's but my hubby has dark brown.

the chances are 20% because most of your family has brown eyes and I have brown eyes and my mom has brown eyes and her whole side of her family and my dad has blue eyes and his whole family has blue eyes. Brown eyes are more dominent so your more likely to have a kid with brown eyes.

I'm guessing your baby will have brown eyes. I think that brown is dominant over green, so there is a very VERY slim chance that your child will have green eyes, if this is true. Sorry!!!

Do any of your husband's siblings have blue eyes? Do any of his aunts or uncles have blue eyes?

Everybody has two eye color genes, and will pass one on to their child.

With eye color, blue/green is a recessive gene while brown is a dominant gene.

Therefore, a person needs two blue/green genes (bb) to have blue eyes, but can have either one of each (Bb), or two brown genes to have brown eyes.

You would have two recessive genes for blue/green (bb).

A person with brown eyes will either have Bb or BB.

I suspect, since your husband is vietnamese, that he has two brown eye genes (BB).

If I am correct, than all of your children will receive one blue/green eyed gene from you (b) and one brown-eyed gene from him (B).

They would all have the genes Bb, and all have brown eyes.

uh brown!! like probably close to 100%! Unless for some reason your husband has a recessive trait for blue or green which is unlikely!

It's pretty much a gamble. My daughter has blue eyes. My husband and I both have hazel. But both his mom and my mom have blue eyes. There really is no way to know.
