I bought some RAM sticks at a thrift store and it was siting in a box under some camras, will it work? If I try it out in my PC will it destory my PC?

Oh No Not the memory under the cameras!!!
Excuse me I got carried away.
If it fits in your computer memory slot, it might work, if not , won't work.
If you turn it on with the memory in and the lights don't go dim, it might work, if the lights go dim, won't work.

Why, after you figure out if it will plug in, don't you take it to a computer shop and have it tested.

Most likely the RAM sticks you bought on the thrift store shelf are of an older/slower variety then what you have in your machine. If they fit then they will force your system to slow down to match speed with the slower memory. Memory is cheap enough. Buy new.

If you already bought it you should try it in your computer, just dont force it in if it doesnt fit. if it slower than your computer or incompatible your motherboard will start beeping when u turn it on
.if it is fast enough to work it will be fine
