I believe you can void the contract and retrieve deposit on it, within three days (in writing), unless it states differently on the contract. Most people don't know this until it' s too late or find it difficult to find out where or who to contact to send it. ( I hate pressure salesmen).

On a real estate purchase contract? In general , NO. You CAN put an "Option Period" into a contract. Basically, it gives the buyer the unrestricted right to back out during an agreed upon time frame. Maybe 7 or 10 or 15 days...

No, people get confused. The 3 day right of rescission is for refi's only. This does not apply to a purchase.
