Why is it that every time there is an intelligent tv series that does not deal with violence, it goes off the air.? I looked forward to Mon. night at 10 p.m. to watch such a show, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Is there a possibilty that it will reappear this season?

Studio 60 will be rescheduled. NBC is struggling to figure out how to promote a show that has most of its audience watching it on DVR.

[From the links below]

The lackluster ratings for "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" have been pretty well-publicized. However, Nielsen has just released numbers showing that it is being watched by more people than originally thought. It tops the list of "time-shifted" programs, a term Nielsen uses for programs recorded on DVR and TiVo, this season. This probably isn't that surprising, given that NBC has been making much of the fact that "Studio 60's" audience tends to be more "upscale," "living in homes with $75,000-plus and $100,000-plus incomes and in homes where the head of household has four or more years of college." Adding in the numbers of people who use DVR to watch the show up to a week after an episode airs, the show adds nearly 11 percent to its total audience. This means more people are watching the show than originally thought and watch it later than other broadcast shows.

My understanding is that it has been cancelled. The Black Donnellys will be taking its place.

The Black Donnellys wasn't supposed to roll out until March, but Studio 60 was doing so poorly in the ratings that NBC decided to yank it early. At least that's what I read.

It has not been officially cancelled yet, though all signs point to last week's episode being the final one.

I agree that it was a great show and it will be missed.

It's on hiatus and probably permenantly cancelled, didn't appeal to enough people. Loved the West Wing, but couldn't get into this, too self absorbed about tv industry I guess.
