Easy...go down anywhere along the Bible belt, walk into the nearest 'honky tonk' bar & listen....
Twangy Fender Telecaster guitars, lap steels, heavy southern accents, acoustic guitars, "down home" lyrics...etc

I would say its partly the instumentation (fiddles, steel guitar, banjo, etc.). Also, its storytelling at its finest. Real stories about real people. Sometimes its happy, sometimes not; like real life.

well... the country music is more soft and kind of like Shania Twain, or maybe we can say.. soft pop... its kinda boring and most listeners are like in their mid 40s :P i hope that helped :)
