Lacrosse is the toughest. HANDS DOWN!!! The toughest sons o' b*tches play lacrosse
Hockey 2nd
Basketball is out of the equation. Basketball is for wussies.
Two of my most favorite sports sayings are:
1) Lacrosse is kinda like hockey...but with balls.
2) Boys of Summer play baseball...Men of summer play Lacrosse.

Lacrosse goalie is probably the toughest. Being you can take one of those balls off of the throat and your larynx can be destroyed. Followed by those are Hockey players, the game has much more grit. Anyone who says Lacrosse is like hockey with balls hasn't played hockey, or more specifically, hasn't played in a checking league. Other lacrosse players who aren't the goalie come into play after the hockey players, and then basketball.
I rate them this way, because when was the last time you heard a normal lacrosse player killed in an on field incident, who wasn't a goalie or didn't suffer heat stroke? And basketball players get hurt landing.
Football is no where near as tough as hockey or lacrosse. Unless you play on the line. Linemen will break fingers and stay in the game. Hockey players have broken legs and stayed in the game, and scored game winning Finals goals with the broken leg. I'd like to see someone with a broken leg play lacrosse.

It's hard to choose between lacrosse and ice hockey. I've played both quite a bit when I was younger and now only ice hockey. They're both wicked physical, I've been hit really hard playing lacrosse and you have too run your a$$ off. Hockey the hits can be harder but easier too dodge if you pay attention because of the maneuverability of hockey skates. I think hockey is a little harder on your hips and groin while lacrosse is harder on your knees and ankles. It's a toss up for me. Basketball isn't even a close third. I hardly play but when I do, I run circles around those fools, hitting jumpers, layups, hooks and all. Way easier. Really fun too. I love basketball.

Ok i actually play all 3, and although lax is my favorite, unfortunately I have to say that the toughest is
1. Hockey....so many elements in the game (ice, boards, skates,) that the others don't have, plus it is faster
2. Lacrosse...also incredibly tough...hitting while trying to manuever a ball with basically a net on the end of a stick.
3. Basketball...dont get me wrong it is also a tough sport, just not as much as the other two. Dribbling skills are a must

Lacrosse is more of a skill game for stick handling. However, hockey requires knowing how to skate. Basketball is by far the easiest to play of all the three. I suck at basketball though. Probably because I'm so short.

i play hockey and lacrosse but i don't play basketball. between hockey and lacrosse i would probably say hockey because there is more body to body contact, whereas in lacrosse its more stick on body. I do play games of basketball w/ my friends pretty often in the summer though and i have never been seriously injured. I would say hockey is the toughest sport.

I currently play all three sports basketball can be dangerous only if you get stuffed hard, but it is not half as tough as lacrossee i would say lacrosse because there is crosscheck and slashing alowed. But if you worry about just falling funny into boards then hockey. It all depends on you. You dislike slashing dont play lacrosse. If you dont like getting rocked dont play lacrosse or hockey. If you dont like getting like a floor burn then dont play basketball.

Hockey in the winter, Lacrosse in the summer. Two tough sports, nice and violent, would probably give hockey the edge though. I've been injured more in hockey than LAX, I think its because there's less space for the game (and boards).

Ice Hockey, simply for the skating aspect I think it edges Lacrosse. Really hard to pick that though. As to basketball I really can't see calling it the toughest if you really look at all 3.
