yes, I found it a bit disturbing actually, but I think every teenager should see this movie with their parent's approval of course.
And every parent should see this movie, they need to understand how important it is being involved in their kid's life. I hope I never get to see my children with those sorts of problems, but the girls mother wasn't all that good of a parent either, now you see my point. Children learn for what they see at home, is important to be a good role model for your children. I'm just worried my kids will turn like Howard Hughes, since I'm too overprotective and anal. (not to the extreme)
sex, drugs and rock n roll is not all that hype!.

Well acted movie, and a frightening look at today's youth. The girl who plays Evan Rachel Wood's best friend in the movie is the girl that wrote the movie, and it is a true story based on her life.

Great movie and based on the life of Nikki Reed who wrote the script with the help of Director Catherine Hardwicke.
This film ought to be seen by parents with their teens. Another film I'd recommend is Better Luck Tomorrow. both are warnings to parents as to how teens can be influenced to do the wrong things by their peers. Parents should teach their children to think individually instead of letting them think it's okay to go along with peers, or get them into the habit of thinking that brainwashing is fine. .

I saw it about a year ago - and while I was a little shocked - It really made me see all of the issues that come a middle schooler's way and how they choose to deal with them - just to fit in - or not.
I wish ERW's character got more guidance from her mom - she needed way more boundaries and rules/consequences or she wouldn't have gotten involved with Evie.
It made me realize that I need to pray for and connect with my 13 year old daughter every single day. It's a really rough age.
p.s. I thought it was a good movie - acting was great - and every parent should see it.

I watched it...I thoguth it was good for what it was. At first I thought there would be alot of nudity...but its was mostly a mother-daughter relationship. It was a good story with a great cast...but I thought it lacked a little something. I thoguth the story could have been built up alittle more.

It was different to say the least. I thought it was pretty good. Kinda disturbing the things they did at that age. Shows how screwed up todays teens are becoming. Mind you not all teens, but their getting worse at younger ages.
