Being an indoor cat can be good, indoor cats generally live a LOT longer than outdoor cats.

That said, outdoor cats who are forced to stay indoors do sometimes get depressed. That isn't deadly unless she refuses to eat.

Since she is cooped up, you need to make sure to spend a lot of time with her. Make sure she has fun things to play with -- toys, one of those carpeted climbing things they make for cats or a tree branch to scratch and climb, a new cardboard box every week (cat love to hide in things and scratch cardboard -- but they like fresh ones).

Get her some kitty grass (they probably have it at your local supermarket or health food store). And make sure to use flea medicine every month.

ALTERNATELY: Talk with the house owners and see if you can't let her out under certain conditions: 1) you set up a place that will entice her to do her business there and 2) you clean it up every day.
