On September 26, 2006, their new album, Acoustic Hearts of Winter was released. On this album, Aly and AJ perform traditional Christmas songs including "Joy to the World" and "Silent Night" as well as the original songs, "Greatest Time of Year" and "Not This Year".
In a recent interview with Aly & AJ they said that they were writing for their next album which will be recorded in January 2007. They also said their album would seem more grown up and will be heavier music with a little more rock feel to it.

They're going to do an MTV movie, and then they're going to record a new album out possibly in the fall of this year.
