go to ign and register for a free account meaning you're not an insider so you don't have to pay... with this account, you can download the battlefield 2142 demo at fileplanet...
or another way is to go to totalbf2.com and see if you can download it there...

Makes me wonder why you can't register a Battlefield account....? Were you booted for any illegal hacking/bug exploiting?
