(cutting) I told the councler, who told her parents who are going to hate her now?

Question

My friend cut. I told the councler after a while with my other friend. We had her promise she wouldnt tell the parents, but maybe other people. My friends parent are abusive, emotionaly and phisicaly. Now a week later the councler had the friend confes the cutting and now the councler is caling the parents. Its a "Window or Opurtunity" I wasnt supposed to tell anyone, but i told the counlser in secret. Now the friends parents got called. My friend hasnt come home yet, she said she wouldnt go home. I tried teling her not to, and now i feel guilty. -Clarification

-Should i tell her that i the one who told?
-Shes not home im rly woried, should i call? (question from them?)
-My friend is really upset now, i cant get her hapy again
-I havent seen her since the bus(we IM daily)
-Me and my friend are the only ppl who told, shes mad at whoever told, and she thinks its not me because id be the last one to tell even tho im the one who DID tell.
-those who do no i told hate me..GUILT!

Your motive for telling was what? Weren't you trying to help her? A cutter is someone screaming for help. I don't think she should have to know you told,but if it comes to that so be it. As bad as she would feel toward you (& in the worst case senario) maybe she may never speal to you again, but you may have been the only one to ever try to help her. No one can help her if they don't know she has a problem,right? In the end, if she choses not to be your friend over it, wasn't it worth it if YOU saved her life. Do not pay attention to the one calling you a snitch, she sounds immature & very ignorant. I wish you & your friend the best outcome in all this

You did the right thing by telling someone. You don't want your friend to kill herself & when you are cutting you might kill yourself not meaning to. You should always tell when it comes to dangerous situations like that.

If your friend is being abused at home she can talk to a counceler & see if she can be removed from the home. She should stay with a friend until the end of the school year if the friend's parents would allow her to. If she told the counceler that she'll run away & not go to school just to avoid going home this might work.

If you are talking about cutting school then I wouldn't tell anyone. Everyone does that at some point. If your friend is not in danger then it doesn't matter.

I'm a cutter and i had the same situation happen with me. U should tell ur friend dat u told the coucnler, because friendship is based on trust. It might take her some time to get over it, but jus let her know dat u told, dat could also make her see how good of a friend u are and how much u care bout her.

If your friend's parents are abusive, then cutting school is not the answer. She needs to talk to a councilor about it.

You did what you thought was right. Your friend is having troubles now that's for sure. But cutting school will not help her.

The rest of the story is too confusing. Which Friend hasn't come home? The one who cut I think? (it would make sense)
And was there another friend involved who did not cut?

You did the right thing. Did you explain to the councelor the reason why they couldn't tell her parents?? This is another big issue that should be addressed. If she finds out that you told she may be angry at first, but you are helping her not hurting her. It took a lot of courage to do what you did. I hope that this works out for you, perhaps you could tell another trusted adult about her whole parent situation ( if you know that they are infact abusive)

Girl friend ure friend obviously does it bcoz she has problems -parents fault ay least thats what i think .But i don't know because i dotn knoe her .But you do and obviously thats why u told the counsler because you care. If u plan on telling her that u told the counsler tell her thta you did it simply beacuse yo ucare about her.Tell her that she should go back to her home and tell her parents whats going on .Try to help her or something to make her feel loved or somehting. Well, thats what u get for snitching. My friends have cutted many times, and i never snitched, jeeze, i even do it at the end of school around June, but for real, stop being a snitch, i know you gotta be a good friend, but if you snitch, that means u cant be trusted...SNITCHER.
