Wow, this has got to be the dumbest question I've ever heard. Sorry. Anyway, the crank shaft isn't something you can tighten. Basically, the when the piston moves, it turns the crank shaft which turns the transmission / transaxle.

First of all you can not tighten a crankshaft on any car,A crank shaft is held in by main berrings which are held on by bolts. If your crank shaft is loose or rod knocking. It is because your main berrings are warn out. In that case the crank has to be removed and milled and new main berrings put in. Very hard job in itself, and very expensive. Your crank shaft is located on the bottom of you motor,If you pull your oil pan off ,you wil be able to see it. It is connected to all your piston rods and also to the bottom of motor. It is a job for someone that knows alot more about car motors then you seem to by even asking this question.
your 2 choices ...complete lower end rebuild....from $2500 to $5000 or replace the motor.......$2000 to $5000.

The crankshaft is the main shaft that the pistons are connected to, enabling transfer of power from the engine to the transmission. Your question is a little vague... Crankshafts do not become "loose", the bearings may become worn, which will produce a "knock" in the engine. If that's the case it will require a lower engine rebuild.

Either way, take it to a mechanic and have them diagnose the problem for you...

i own a shop, and I'm not sure i know what you mean by tighten a crank shaft,if you mean the main center bolt that holds the harmonic balance on ,it can be done by using a large bar and socket on it,that's all i can think of that you might be talking about on it,good luck.

Depends on the vehicle & engine in question, but most likely to require a complete engine strip down & rebuild if it's bad enough to need that sort of attention.

through your oil pan it would take a book on your car and specs on tightness it would take a person that has done one on your type of car before.
