I know that at the end of a period, there could be a brownish discharge. I found this on a site, "Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown." Check out this site and also give it to your friend; it has information on different colors of discharge and what is normal, what is not.

Brown discharge is normal right after periods, since it might just be old blood. It also happens sometimes during pregnancy instead of a regular period. If your friend knows for sure that she's not pregnant, it's probably nothing serious.

If she came to my office I would need some more information (her age, has she started having periods, are they regular, does she have sexual activities, is she on birth control pills....) It can be a simple infection. Or it could be other things. She needs to see her healthcare provider.....there's not enough information here to really say what's needed.

Tell Yasmine she should call the doctor and ask about it.

no, that's normal, during the beginning or ending of your period. but, if there's something she's still worried about, she should go see a doctor.

periods can be bright red, brick red, brown, light brown, you get the point. anyway-on the first day its usually bright red, or some color red, then as it ends, its turns brown or dark red.
