In 1998. It was 'Tarzan And The Lost City'...lol I got it because it was cheap (only 11.99) and I needed a dvd to try out my dvd player I'd just gotten for my birthday. Thing was; I hated the thoughts of having to buy all my vhs tapes all over again so I protested the whole way until I ended up getting a dvd player as a present. Then I just wanted to buy a cheap dvd to try it out, so I bought 'Tarzan' for that reason. Of course, the picture and sound were so AWESOME that now, 9 years later, I've got well over 300 dvds (and that's after having 200 stolen in 2003). i've had so many. i can't remember. i remember getting my very first DVD player for my birthday in 2001, and the first two dvd's i got for it was Rock, and Ghostbusters.
