i took it with all of my pregnancies for severe morning sickness. as far as safety of baby i wouldn't be concerned. it is very expensive though and even with my insurance they would only allow so many pills per copay and you have to take them several times a day. have you tried phenergan? didn't work as well for me but a lot of women take it and it helps. have you tried eating something before you even get out of bed (cracker, banana)and keep eating little something (like saltines) all day long if you can. also some people have relief with ginger in tea, candies, real gingerale, etc. i have also heard of women drinking coca cola for morning sickness.? good luck!

"Ondansetron has not been studied in pregnant women. However, this medicine has not been shown to cause birth defects or other problems in animal studies."

I would suggest against it, as long as you are not vomiting all day, I suggest eating foods that are bland and keeping your tummy full. Not eating increases your nausea...try eating water crackers, that seems to work.

Ask your doctor as that is what they are there for. They know you better than anyone here does. If you are questioning his methods, find someone else you're more comfortable with.
