Answer to both with one simple solution B vitamins. Try the B 50 complex. It is a natural energizer, mood enhancer and brain stabilizer. Every time I feel a bad mood creeping in, or getting tired mid day, I pop a B vitamin and POW, all better! It's better than Red Bull or anything else like that!

St John's Wort is an excellent natural anti-depressant, as are all the B vitamins, especially B1 (thiamine), B3(niacine), and B5(pantothenic acid) All are used to treat depression. In addition, Gingko biloba, and ginseng are also good when it comes to moods and the brain. Chamomile tea and valerian are good all natural tranquillizers as are calcium and magnesium. Hope that was a help.

What I have found that helps:
5-HTP
St. John's Wort
Hops herb
I tried taking b-vitamin pills and nothing. Then I tried niacin (not niacinamide or any other form) and it calmed me down and has helped heal my skin. I don't take enough to have a red flush but 50 mg. daily works for me.
Royal jelly once a day is also a big one for me, I never go without it. Don't buy a cheap brand, it is a waste of money.
Also, the amino acid N-acetyl-Cysteine is a must for me. It calmed me down within an hour of taking it so now I have a daily dose of 300 mg.

I have found that a combination of (previously mentioned) exercise, omega 3 (fish oil), B vitamin complex, in addtion to some 5-HTP can do wonders. Combine the above with a healthy diet and this book: "The Feeling Good Handbook" by David Burns, MD, and you have a no miss winner.

After I saw a show with a beautiful woman without both hands, or newborn triplet all blind and deaf that works as my mood-enhancer.
You have both hands, both legs, not blind, can drive right??? DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. Thank God for it and enjoy life in full.
Many people don't have what you have. Let it cheer you up forever.
