Maps are an interpretation of the world. They show only what the cartographer wants to show. Its difficult enough taking a curved surface like the earth and displaying it on a flat surface, the map. Lots and lots of different maps for different purposes, each maybe drawn in a different way. SO,If we are talking about, or considering accuracy; then they must all be considered to be accurate for the purposes that they were drawn. You might be interested in reading 'How to lie with Maps' Mark Monmonier, published by University of Chicago Press1991,1996. ISBN 0-226-53421-9
Hope I've helped your thoughts in some way.

Controversial author, Gavin Menzies [check source material below] suggests he has the answer and that the Chinese managed to map the world almost completely before Columbus set sail with the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria! He claims Columbus knew where he was going all along!

Depends on your definition of the word accurate? Accurate to what degree. accurate enough for me to sail from Bristol to Barbados?
Good enough to fly long distances with - I doubt it.
unless you drew it on a globe whose tops were slightly smaller than its waist, it would be wrong. Most images of the world are corrected with Macenters projection, thus America and Canada seem about the same size, but Canada is much smaller as the further north you go, the more the round image is stretched to fit on a flat square page.

I dont think that should be possible except a computing machine or device is used. The world is too large for anyone to draw.
Please dont try it orelse you will miss a lot in school.
