For my eagle project, I am putting up boards at my school for people to put fliers and anouncements on. I figured out that cork borads would cost too much, so I need a cheeper alternative. Does anyone have a sugestion?

Magnets on a metal board.

Afraid people will take yer magnets....

Use binder clips on any type of board, (Metal, wood, etc...) and have them screwed in place. Place them about every 10 inches next to eachother, and 12 inches above one another. Voila.... Message board done. And pretty cheaply too. I think the binder clips are about $3 or $4 for a box of 12 at Office Depot, Staples.... etc...

See, that was Easy....

My mom made us some cute bulletin boards when we were kids that used large squares of cardboard. She carefully taped the edges with duct tape (it makes a kind of "frame") then spraypainted the whole thing gold and added a flower in the middle for decoration. Very cute, very inexpensive. You could cover the cardboard squares with white butcher paper if spray paint is too inconvenient.

I would look at the possiblity of 1/2 " plywood , with the little metal spring clips , screw the clips to the board. drill a larger hole on one side of the clip so the head of the srcew will go thru and grab from inside of the clip. paint the board or contact paper to look cool. good luck with your project

Here's a cheap alternative, the actual name is "asphalt-impregnated insulated sheathing". Commonly "fuzz board". It comes in 4x8' sheets and can be easily cut and painted.

Good luck on the project!
