Emo doesn't stand for emotional, it stands for emotive. Bands like Lifetime are considered emotive. All this new bit about Fall Out Boy being "emo" is a lie, mainly because they are Pop Punk. Go listen to Lifetime, then Fall Out Boy, and note the differences.

emo stands for emotionaly charged punk rock, nowa days it is also considered a fashion sense but kids are unable to be emo due to them not been in an emotional charged punk rock band, hope this helps you :)
