Do you have to be a home owner to file for bankruptcy?

No you do not have to own a house. It's easy to check out the Bankruptcy laws. Be very care full of adds in the paper saying they do Bankruptcies etc. My husband and I were scammed $1,700.00 because we did not check the guy out. Turned out he was wanted by the Attorney General for many different scams.

You have to be unable (not just unwilling) to pay your bills.
