My son's doctor put him on baby food at 6 months old. He is curently eating 2 or 3 containers of food for lunch and 3 for dinner. He is an average size, he weighs about 19 lbs. Is this alot for an 8 month old to eat? How much does your 8 month old eat?

Sorry, his doctor did put him on solids at 4 months not 6. He is on 2 and 3 stage foods. I sometimes put a container of fruit in his cereal in the morning. So he is eating about 6 containers a day plus about 4/6oz bottles of formula.

My son is almost 9 months old, he eats level three. For breakfast he gets 5 tbsp infant cereal, 90ml strained juice, 150ml formula
For lunch 6-8 tbsp junior vegetable, 3-4 fruit, and 150ml formula
Fo supper 8-10 veg&meat combo, 3-4 fruit, and 150ml formula and then last before bed he gets 3-5 tbsp cereal and formual. So you see my son eats a lot too, but the menu that I follow came to me by mail when I signed up for Heinz. My son weighs about 23 pounds, and the doctor says that he is just fine. Hope that helps

I have a six month old baby girl and she eats a stage 2 fruit for breakfast, 2 stage 2 (one fruit /one veggie) for lunch, a stage 2 mix (w/meat) for dinner and cereal right before bed along with 5 bottles through out the day and she weighs about 21lbs. My doctor said it was fine and not to worry. So I would say that your son is fine.

By 8 months I had my daughter on ground foods. she started solids at 4 months though. I would take either what we were eating or a Gerber graduate and grind it up for her. Sounds like he is getting too old for baby food and it is not filling enough. I would get a food grinder (about $10 for the hand crank one....that is what I had) and see how he does with the ground food. It is more filling and he will not have to eat as much.
Good luck

That's what my boy (now 9 1/2 months) was eating at that age. Sounds fine to me.
