The people who are not good leaders will always resent you and make it hard for you to get things done. Thats why I fire people who are not on the same page with my vision!!
Nothing worse than losers trying to take credit for your ability!

I have always been outgoing and able to lead if necessary. I doubt if anyone would resent you if you are kind and try to include people who aren't so outgoing into the group you are in. Sometimes leaders are control freaks and people as a whole don't care for that. Even if you are a natural leader that doesn't mean you must always lead. Frequently natural leaders have the power to bring a group together, make all feel comfortable and be positive about whoever is leading the group. Look inside yourself and see how you are using your skills.

If you were a "natural" leader then people would feel natural in following you, and wouldn't resent you. If you're getting a lot of resentment then it's probably a sign that you're bossy instead of a leader. A real leader is subtle and makes people feel good.

Natural leaders make it look easy. If people resent you for it, it's probably because your not a natural, just bossy.
Look at someone like Alexander the Great. That is a natural leader.

yes, i am also a natural leader and people have resented me to this day. You see, natural leaders are the people who can talk a kid out of bringing a gun to school, natural leaders start a charity organization for the needy, natural leaders raise their concerns about their neighbhorhoods. If you ask me, everyone is a natrual leader but they just need to find their area to shine. Whomever is bothering you should know that anyone is capable of being a leader and they should try and become one, rather than sulking over having met one.

That depends. Seems like on Survivor, the ones who step up and try to get things organized or provide answers when they first arrive are the first to get kicked off. I think you have to watch your timing and step in as necessary. If you volunteer to do certain work right away, it doesn't show necessarily that you are a leader, but rather that you can be taken advantage of. This is an opinion. You are who you are and when your heart or gut moves you to do something, do it, but don't turn resentful. Don't step on toes, if someone else is already in charge. Somebody's got to step up.

Some people may resent you but that is only their own insecurity. However, be sure you are truly a leader and not just trying to be one.

People resent you declaring yourself a natural leader. True leaders are always reluctant.
