In two seperate sessions, how long does it take first to remove the transmission if working alone, and then second how long does it take to put a new one back in? With help on the second for sure, and possibly help taking it out.

This all depends, is it a 4x4? If not letrs assu,e you have an automatic transmission. you have to drain the fluid, disconnect the shift arm, disconnect the drive shaft, and then the bolts that connect the bell housing to the block. If you have a tranny jack one person should be able to take one out in 4-5 hours. Puting it back in will take an extra hour due to setting the torque converter correctly, if its 4x4, add another 1/2 hour to take out the transfer case

Depends on the person's prior experience. Take me for instance . . . to remove a transmission from a Fort Explorer it would take me about . . . 5 months. Possibly longer.

And, then for me to put a new one back in . . . about 2 years. And, with help ? . . . I don't think I would get any help. Others would probably just grab a chair and sit back to watch and be entertained watching that I don't know what I'm doing.

I'm a peacefully divorced woman and feel a great sense of accomplishment that I was able to adjust the hinges on my hall door last week.
