Unless you're native american, you're an immigrant, and California was part of Mexico before we stole it. This is supposed to be a place that offers people new oppurtunities, and they do jobs that you probably don't want to do.

irregardless as to whether or not they are doing so legally, because I'm questioning the laws themselves.

also, i'd much rather my tax money go to illegals living off the system, right now it's being feed into a pointless war to kill innocent Iraqi's and destroy their country. If someone is living off my tax money at least I know I'm improving their quality of life. How is the Iraq war bettering someone else and making their life easier to live?

all that nonsense about illegals not paying taxes is absurd, of course illegal workers pay taxes... you have to be irrational not to think about tax paying employees, first of all when you get hired you fill out paperwork and where does that paper work go to?? the IRS which in turn every SINGLE paycheck takes money from every worker. Benefits like welfare for example are NOT given to illegals you have to be a CITIZEN to receive them (not even permanent residents are able to get these type of benefits)... a lot of that money that the governement uses for public services comes from illegal workers who don't get a tax refund but do get money taken away every paycheck!!!! Now i know that a whole bunch of you who are against illegal immigration are just plain hypocrit because i'm pretty sure you have hired some illegal to do work YOU don't want to do!!! DO NOT sit there and talk about being inmoral when you prefectly contribute to the situation, and please DO NOT tell me that you are going to go out there and mown your lawn, or cook your own eggs benedict when you have brunch on sunday mornings after getting out of church!!! and please don't even get me started about raising your kids, you people are too busy with your lives that you can't even take care of your own children and you have to hire an illegal to watch your kids afterschool (and no, you are not hiring someone from those nanny services because that would take from your once a year vacation money)-- so in other words do not create an opinion on a delicate subject if you don't see both sides of the spectrum!!!!

Okay, first of all, almost every piece of land can be claimed to have been stolen at one time or another, who do you think was living on the land before the Mexicans where there? Secondly, we are paying billions of dollars in social services because of these illegals, when is the last time you went to an ER? Personally, I don't like my hard earned tax money going to anyone other than legal citizens of our country. Thirdly, that old tired excuse that they only take jobs that we won't take just doesn't wash. Drive by any construction site and count the number of Mexicans working there, do you really believe that they are all here legally and those are construction jobs that are being lost to Americans because the contractor can under bid because he's not paying wages that Americans need to survive. Why can't the Mexicans come across the border legally? Did you know that the Mexican army has shut off their southern border, now how is that fair, they get to export their lower class population but aren't letting anyone in. Next time actually take pen to paper and do some logical thinking about the questions you are asking.

You know it is like the great Carlos Mencia you get rid off the Mexicans there goes the workforce! Now for those of you that just got offended, oh well. I just think that if Mexicans are going to come to America, yes the should at least know English but to stop them from talking their native language, that's oppression and that's just wrong. But I will admit there are times when a few Mexicans I know talk **** about people right in front of them in Spanish and it pisses me off. If they don't have the aguacates ( if you don't know don't ask) to say it in English then they shouldn't say it at all. Just a small opinion there but I am not agreeing or disagreeing with you on this

We do have a rather open border with Mexico and many Mexicans are allowed to cross into the US. Many are given permission to work here as well. The current policies do however limit the numbers of workers that may enter the country and this, in turn aids businesses that hire illegal workers because they can pay them less. Legal workers cost more. it is economics.

Why don't they try crossing legally? Where are you coming from? What other country does not control it's borders? Yes, we are the land of opportunity and now becoming the land of free welfare to illegals, which we pay for in taxes and services. Do you believe we should have a world without borders?

Get reall! Your thinking is either very uneducated or naive. Will you take them into your home, pay for their education, health care, bring illegal drugs to your children and provide legal representation if they break the law. Since they don't pay social security will you be willing to double the taxes you pay.

You must be very young and naive. Your heart is good but you need to educate yourself.

First, they need to follow the same laws as everyone else for immigration. Second, our country wiped out polio, TB and other diseases that are making "appearances" along the paths the illegals are following. For the health risks alone we can't afford to just open the border. Regardless of what jobs they are willing to do, we can fix that by taking welfare off the table as a career option in this country.

It's not just like crossing your neighbor's fence...It's supposed
to be an International Border, which meand you are entering another Country..there are supposed to be legalities when
people cross borders into other countries that is why when
Mexicans (Or any one else for that matter) enter into this
country without proof of Citizenship is declared Illegal

There are many legal avenues for them to use to cross. The problem is illegal immigrants, not Mexicans in general. If the rules need to change, change them, but they need to be followed.

You are wrong. I assume that you mean that if you are not an american indian that you are an immigrant. Are you saying that YOU are an immigrant?? I was born in the USA....therefore I am not an immigrant. I am not against immigration. I am however against illegal immigration.
