I am 33 and never thought would have sex questions, but I really think I should wait at least six months. Although I am not worried about it now, because I don't have anyone in my life now due to feeling awful, should I wait longer anyway? I am feeling depressed because I also wanted more kids, not feeling good about myself. Is this normal?

Doc says six weeks it is best to wait at least that long. Longer would be better, but 6 months not neccisary, but as you say no one is in your life right now anyways.
Depression is normal and remember there are children in need of a loving family already here. We're going for adoption shortly.

It's normal to be depressed after surgery of any kind, and yours is probably aggravated by you feeling the loss of your ability to reproduce. Be sure to talk to your doctor about an antidepressant. It's fine to have sex after six to eight weeks; it might also make you feel better if you do. Some of my women friends had trouble with depression; they didn't feel 'womanly' after their surgery. I had a total hysterectomy due to endometriosis when I wasn't much older than you; I was lucky to have the one daughter I have now. I was so relieved to be rid of the pain I was thrilled to death. I am on hormone replacement due to my age. Good luck and best wishes; feel better soon!

You should be healed in 6 weeks, but if it bothers you or causes you pain, stop and wait a little longer. I understand your depression it is really quite normal. It will go away in time. You might want to look for support groups.

I had a 2nd degree tear with my 2nd and the midwife could no longer positioned the stitches in until eventually the following day (looong tale). i became strictly steered "No intercourse until eventually the stitches are IN". no longer 6 weeks, no longer until eventually the stitches have been out. She is a British knowledgeable midwife. We waited 2-3 weeks regularly by way of fact i became drained and overwhelmed with a infant and a new child. issues have been a sprint delicate and specific positions did no longer artwork, besides the incontrovertible fact that it became superb. With my first I had 2 first degree tears and that i do no longer keep in mind how long we waited, it could have been around 6 weeks. there became no soreness in any respect.
