because liberals want to let everyone do whatever they want to. They want to allow gays to get married, illegal aliens to stay in whatever country they sneak into, etc. then they will be the first to complain about all the problems their policys caused and blame them on the conservatives.

I think that gay marriage would maybe be the end of the topic on the sanctity of marriage the beginning being divorce or how about open relationships even the married couples who practise "swinging" . Not to mention the word common-law. So basically there is no sanctity in marriage any more so no sense talking behind that veil. To let gays marry or not should be the question. And obviously being such a political hot button it's ignored

Because liberals tend to think rationally. We understand that gays are eligible for the same rights as the straights. This is one of the last stages of the civil rights movement. Keep in mind, marriage used to be a property arrangement. It has nothing to do with man/woman or pro-creation. You can get married on a game show too. I didn't see anyone protesting "Who wants to marry a millionaire". Why don't all the conservatives admit that they're grossed out by gays and that's it. Stop hiding behind your bible and sanctity of marriage arguments.
I have a question for the gay marriage opponents: How does gay marriage affect anyone accept the gays? If it was legal today, how would know? How would your life change?
Edit -
Wow, Mr. Methane just compared homosexuals to bestiality! That is scary. You must realize, being gay is part of the human condition. Not some freaky fetish.

Because not everyone shares the same definition of "marriage", or "sanctity", for that matter.
There are some, for example who would say that anyone who might consider divorce from the spouse to whom they were wed, before God, has no respect for the sanctity of marriage. But, many of those who beat the drum loudest, for political gain, perhaps, on the topic of "the sanctity of marriage" are themselves divorced, some of them: multiple times.

Liberals are not trying to destroy the sanctity of marriage. In fact the sanctity of marriage is not even a political agenda. It is a religious one. Among some liberals, there is a move to allow gay marriage. This has nothing to do with the sanctity of anything. It is merely a drive to allow two people to make a contract to live together and share their lives. Such a thing would in no way affect heterosexual marriage.

This liberal is very much interested in protecting the sanctity of marriage. That is why this liberal never intends to get a divorce or to be unfaithful. These are the two biggest real threats to the sanctity of marriage.

Ohhhh dear.
Clearly the attempt to change the old Yahoo debate forum from one dominated by agenda politics and noisy activists is not going to work. Instead of "discussing" a story with a spray of liberal/conservative vitriol, now the same ideologues simply post "questions" that are no more than rhetoric.
There is no difference between "discussing" a story with a "why do libtards hate America" or " why are conservatives vile hypocrites" comment, and posting the same sentiment as a so-called "question" No one who posts a question when they are completely sure in their own mind of the answer. and in which the underlying assumption is designed to make a political attack is truly looking for information. Same old stuff, same old people. Same old politics.

well, I think they are at least as interested in protecting the sanctity of marriage as conservatives.
Neocons, now, that might be another matter. Why don't you ask Ted Haggard or Mark Foley?

What sanctity? 50% of marriages end in divorce, marriage is no longer a commitment to a person, it is a title that can be easily removed. Marriage is a joke, there used to be sincerety in it, not anymore

The liberals are more interested in their image then in what is right. It's politics at it's best, so to speak. I wish that the MP's would wake up to reality and the fact that they are only making things worse in our country by tearing down the foundations that were set up by our forefathers, foundations that were set up according to the Bible. Take out the Bible and we are promised things will only get worse in our country, and the world.
