I can't beileve that in 2007 their are still Americans who have no running water, and that go hungry. It gets me so mad that we help all these other countries, when our own people need help!! Shouldn't we be making sure that all Americans have running water, electricity, and food before we help anyone else? What do you think?

i agree 1000000000000000000%. why do we worry about everywhere else when people are suffering here that need help...not to diss Africa or anything but some ppl in America have aids and/or need help getting back on their feet!!!!

Good question and one that surely provokes some thought. But wouldn't you find a way, being in America, to get to a place where you had running water and electricity? That's one of the great things about this country is you can come from the bottum and rise to the top. That's the true "freedom" in it's meaning. I've been to many countries where this just isn't a possiblity. I gaurantee anyone living in the ghetto of St. Louis can walk to a job, get their act together, go to night school and become an attorney if they should want to.

I totally agree with you. I also know that some people would argue that there is help available to everyone, But being from a small community and a poor state it happens all time and to a lot of people that seem to fall through the cracks or are frightened that their kids or pride will be taken away with the governments help. See a need fill a need...Help those who cannot help themselves. Be like Jesus and feed the poor everyone, even when you dont agree with their lifstyle or choice of birthcontrol.

I think we just put the wrong people in office all the time. You know they are eating and taking trips all on us. Boy what a life take it all away and they would not know what to do. can they live with out electricity and water? would they have any idea how to survive? I doubt that very much. But I live in America and have had to do it more then a few times in my life and I am a survivor.

I think that we have programs for our citizens to get these things, We have plenty of jobs that people can do. You need to Ask yourself why are these people without these things, If you look into the reasons you might not be so Angry, it may make you see that these people prioritize the wrong ways, drugs, liquor and gambling are more important than eating, or keeping their families with the necessities of life. There is no excuse for Americans to let themselves get to that point. By the way, I come from a poverty stricken area and have seen these things first hand, I grew up in house where the water, electricity and food weren't available.. I promised my self not to allow that to happen when I grew up.. and I haven't

You have hit the nail on the head.
It irritates me that our great country bails others out of harsh situations , yet fails to take care of it's own.
You can thank the UN for trying to push us around to be big brother to everywhere else. If they are going to stay her the U.S. should split into every individual state as an country like Europe, then we could get enough votes to take care of ourselves.

I think you are 1000 percent right in this. We should not shell out one cent more in foreign aid, not one penny more for war, or anything else outside of our borders until everyone within our boarders has a decent living condition. There should be no homless, no hungry, and frankly no poor in Americ before we start sending funds to support people and things outside of America

Having lived in both Austria and Japan, I've realized that we are all part of this big 'ole world and just doing the best we can. We are all PEOPLE. We all need to help wherever, whenever and however we can.

America needs to make America its priority. We've got a lot of problems going on here, never mind tryign to police the world (even if we think that we'll get something out of it).
