Why is titanium located where it's at on the period table? (besides the fact that it's a transition metal & not reactive)

The girl is right about that it's atomic number is 22, but she's wrong about one the atomic number means.
The atomic number means the number of protons or the number of electrons it has.
You can say, it has 22 protons and it has 22 electrons. The reason being why they're equal is because, if one had less then the other, the atom would become an ion because it would have a charge.

To find the number of neutrons you go atomic mass - atomic number.

Because it's number 22. and if I remember correctily electrons plus neutrons equal the atomic number.
