Consider that the Command Prompt is disabled and you are unable to download a program, how would you find the IP address now?

1. From the computer itself, open a command prompt and type "ipconfig" (or "ipconfig /all" for full IP information).
2. Assuming you know the host name, type "ping 'hostname'" from a command prompt at any computer on the subnet.
3. From the DHCP server, check the address leases.
4. Use a third-party IP sniffing program, such as angryIP or nettools.

Assume that u know the hostname, it is just a matter of either pinging the hostname, or doing a dns query against the dns server. There's IP scanning software out there, but it's intrusive to use it, plus some IT sys admin does not like ip scanning so you have to watch out.
