The height thing makes a big difference in things like arm wrestling so its probably that. I'm about 6'3 and lift weights but lose arm wrestles to shorter people who I know that I am stronger and fitter than, however I'd murder most of these people in a fight (the tallness helps with this) so he really doesn't have anything to worry about, arm wrestling is poor measure of how well you can fight/protect someone or even of how strong you are.

Take a ju jitsu class or when you wrestle next plant a big wet kiss on the middle of his forehead. Use this distraction to your advantage.

Maybe you should try and figure out some ways to outsmart him when wrestling. Maybe you could claim that he is hurting you too badly, then when he stops, you get him.
