I thought Ellen was the best host I have seen - she did a fantastic job. I enjoyed the Oscars this year more than I have in years past. They kept it moving, the "thank you" speeches appropriately short, and injected a lot of humor. Some of the dresses were beautiful but a few were hideous which just proves money can't buy class! The departed won and that was great!

I think Ellen did a great job but she looked a little nervous at the beginning. I wished she would have rocked the house and danced around to make the Oscar a party!!
She looked great in the while tux and also the sapphire blue suit but I didn't like the first outfit. (I just didn't like the colour).
But Ellen was great. I remember when she hosted an awards show a LONG time ago ( I think it might have been the Tony Awards) and she was awesome. Maybe cuz that show was not as high profile as the Oscars.

No I didn't watch The Oscars. I think they are boring and I will never watch them. Ellen is a better host on her own show she just did The Oscars so she could have something to do that night. Of course Ellen is funny because she is funny on her own show too.

I thought it was better than last year. I was SOOOOO happy when Jennifer Hudson won. I've been a fan of hers ever since she was on Idol. I thought the dance troup that made the shapes for each best icture nominee was pretty cool. Oh, and that short film at the beginning was pretty good. I didn't see the last half hour though. Maybe it dragged on a bit, but I enjoyed it for the most part. One more thing, my favorite part of the show was when Beyonce, Jennifer, and Anika performed the three nominated songs from Dreamgirls. I thought it was almost magical. And Beyonce, she showed us she could REALLY sing. I was impressed with all three songs and the performances.

The show is too bloated. This should take two hours, not three and a half. Dancers behind lit screens and lame comedy sketches? Give me a break. Comedies are ignored, why is that?
The hosts are not the problem. I guess pace and focus are not a concern for the producers. It was better than some of the past shows, but that's not saying much.

I enjoyed it. Ellen was funny. Plus I am glad Martin Scorcese won for Best Director. He deserved it.

i liked it but i thought it was a bit too long. as usual the hosts are never as funny as they could be. the show in general had a few good moments like will ferrel, jack black and john c reilly singing, and i also like jerry seinfield's bit. ellen was good, show was just a little too long

Ellen was great! The show went too long, they showed to many of the I don't care categories.
