I am guessing they do.

When I went to Florida, I saw all these car number plates saying Sunshine State and Garden State etc...does each state have an alias ?

(I Googled this, and it just spurted nonsense about Bush)

Just about every state has a motto, Mine is the Granite State, Vt is the Green State, Maine is Vacationland, New York is the Empire State, Massachusetts Is the bane of New England.

Yes they all do. I am from the Keystone State of Pennsylvania. I have lived in Ohio, the Buckeye State, and Vermont, the Green Mountain State. Thanks for the question.

Yes, they are called our state nicknames.. they also have state birds, state mammals, state flower, A Motto, etc.
I'm from Kansas, we are the Sunflower State.
