I am a Jewish male and I have two names as do most of the Christians have middle names or double names. By the way ladies also have double names, just as the Christians.
Ex: My Hebrew name is Mordecai ben Raful HaCohen
or in English it would be Maksim son of Rafail the Cohen
My friend who is Christian his name is Andrew Dillan (and then the last name).
Ex: My cousin her name is Shoshana bas Leah
or in English Flo daughter of Leah
My friend's finace's name is Amy Ann (then the last name)

So, most people have two names, which inlcudes Jews and non Jews

Many jewish people have two names. One is a Hebrew name given at birth for ritual purposes. The other is a name that is recognizable by people in the society where they live. Mine Hebrew name is Miryam. I have a anglicized, or common name, that I go by which is Mary.

The double name thing, to me, is for assimilation. Basically, it is so Jews can have names that fit in with the majority where they live. Many ethnicities do it. For example, I have a Japanese friend whose given name is Mitsuo. He goes by Mike.

Some do and some don't.

Just like non-Jews.
