Would you be the rideshare / carpool driver if you got reimbursed 20 cents per mile by each passenger in the car? Would you do it if that money was tax free reimbursement of expenses?

20 miles a day each way at $0.60/mile is $24/day or $120/week or about $500/month.

Sites like http://ridebay.com and http://ridester.com have ways to get the driver reimbursed.

Would you do it then?

Rideshare? Carpool? I wish extra human beings did it. this could be a great theory, getting paid to be the driving force in a carpool, and getting the rideshare charge negotiated up front. that could be so cool to locate a journey someplace for the your best option value. i wish this internet site grows to be huge! i'm uninterested in using! I stay in l. a. and the air sucks. much less vehicles would surely help.

I wouldn't do it.

Having to pick up people with the way traffic is, I'd have to leave home at 4a.m.

My main directive after work, is to GET HOME QUICKLY so I can just relax and have dinner and get over any headaches of the day.

If I drove around dropping everyone off I'd get home at 10pm. It's not worth selling your nerves for $120.

I'd like to say yes because the money would come in handy, but my answer is no. I like the freedom of being able to come and go as I like.
