ATV's are not legal for use on public roadways. Period.

No you can't make one legal for street use. Sorry, get a 2 wheeler.

What state are you in?

In Wyoming you can make ATV's street legal. Not in Colorado though. I have no idea about other states.

They must be licensed and equipped with the same accessories required of motorcycles here in Wyoming.

Depends on the state you are from but in general you need to have the same basic equipment as a motorcycle.

Headlight, Brakelight and turn signals. For a vehicle not previously street legal a safety inspection must also be conducted at an authorized inspection station. Some states may also require a windscreen.

Nope not in the US; even with all the safety equipment, you would be hard pressed to find street tires. Plus, it would not pass emissions.

Some months ago, one of the motorcycle mags featured a blurb on a street legal quad being engineered in Germany as I recall. However, fully dressed, it was over $50K.

Hmmm, four wheels. Two people. $50K. Sounds like a sweet convertible to me.

Any 4 wheeled motor vehicle is seen a "vehicle" and could pass secure practices and emissions attempt to grow to be street criminal. that is impossible to do with a 4 wheeler. some states enable non-street criminal automobiles to force on the streets, yet in basic terms small roads in rural factors. I assure you there is nowhere in the USA the place you may desire to force a 4-wheeler in the city or on the line.

Don't even try.Their gearing makes them way too slow for any kinda of traffic, and handling on pavement above 25 mph is terrifying.
