I told my boyfriend I would try to fix his iPod on my laptop. Its being really retarded. When I plug it in it says,
" iTunes has detected and ipod in Recovery mode. You must restore this Ipod before it can be used with iTunes "

You need to go to this page http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
You will need to select your computer OS (Apple or Windows) and the type of iPod you have. Then, click on the Restore link from the grey bar at the bottom of the page. It will take you to a set of instructions for you to follow. Follow those and you will be back in the game.

i assume he has music on it so........
go to "my computer" and see if you can access the ipod. if you can go onto google and type in sharepod download this onto the ipod and double click the .exe file. then transfer all of the music to your pc into a folder somewhere.
now unplug the ipod and go to settings and near the bottom it should say restore factory setting or summat do this. then connect the ipod to ur pc download sharepod again as it should have been deleted and put all the music back on ... or just use itunes to put the music back on.
im assuming u dont have his entire music collection on ur laptop already thats y i am asking u to make a copy by the way

try rebooting it
hold the "menu" button and the "center" button together for about 7 seconds and it should reboot and work fine!!
