I believe another dynasty is around the corner. I don't know what team it will be but it will happen.
Take for Instance the sharks, they saw the cap coming and started to plan for it by firing there coach and trading there captain (sad year for shark fans). But overall they didn't get crunched with the cap like so many other teams i.e. NJ Devils.
What the cap has done though is forced all the teams to rework their organizations (mostly new focuses on drafts) which will take a few years to get the clinks out. And big name players realize they can't take a huge salary due to the cap.
Once these issues iron themselves out (which overtime they will) Certain teams will figure out a way to become power houses again. And it's going to be the youngster's in the league that will play a major role in developing those dynasties again.

Possibly. If a team really stinks for a few years and gets some solid draft picks who are cheap for a few years and an amazing goalie, then why not?? I think the Penguins could in another year or two, could make a run at a few cups.
The Pats can be considered a dynasty in the NFL with a salary cap. NO! I do not want parity, I would rather a dynasty. What do you remember most? The Isles and Oilers of the late 70's and early 80's or that Carolina won last year-AND that was just last year!!
Why exactly won't we have another Gretzky or Lemieux??

Depends on what you call a dynasty, It could happen a team winning 2-3-4 years in a row but this will be rare iam sure. With the cap a franchise could in theory lock up young players many years before they make top dollar.

Probably not, but it's not just the Salary Cap....for the last real Dynasty you have to go back almost 20 years to the Edmonton Oilers. There are more teams now, and less seperates the best and worst players and teams. We're not going to have another Gretzky and Lemieux again either (no offense to Crosby). Teams seem to have a lot less patience to wait and see if someone is going to be a star or not, there are a lot more trades now.

I don't see why we wouldn't get to see another dynasty. If a team loses for a few years in a row, see Penguins, and have some good draft choices. Why can't they win for a 3 to 5 year stretch? It could happen again. Hopefully!!!! Nothing better than rooting against a perennial powerhouse.

95 Devils--96 Avs--97-98 Wings
00 Devils--01 Avs--02 Wings
03 Devils -- these 3 teams have won the cup in 8 of the last 12 years.(04-05 Lockout) That means only the Stars,Lightning and the Hurricanes have won the cup since 1995.Aside from the Avs, I see the Devils and the wings with a very good chance once again, so the answer is yes! There very well can be another "Dynasty" especially when you have the likes of a Martin Brodeur.
And to the 2 of you that rated this a bad answer, please explain---why is this a bad answer?....its a fact not an opinion

Its possible. Look at the Penguins with a little juggling they have the chance to be able to re-sign Crosby, Malkin, and Staal in the '09 and '10 years. Which is plenty of talent to continue to build around with young wingers like Colby Armstrong , Ryan Malone in place. And the beginnnig of a solid defensive core anchored by Ryan Whitney. They have the potential to develop and make a run at a cup for 3-4 consecutive years. Probably will have to lose Fleury but he has always been a streaky goalie.

Probably not, but when was the last time you saw one anyway. I don't blame the salary cap, it is free agency that tends to end dynasties.

I hope so. I think it is cool when a team is so good that they continue to win year after year.
