Because two wrongs do not make a right it only makes things worse and even more miserable. You will not be happy by seeking revenge either. Forgiveness and letting go is the best thing to do here and will ultimatley heal you over time and you will be a much better person for it. You really need to treat him the way that you would want him to treat you.

don't cheat on him, instead get a divorce from him and find someone who won't cheat on u, they are out there. no one wants to have to share someone with someone else.

I hate people that quote the bible but here it goes:
"The bible also says do onto others"
Its about Justice. Since our man did it to you, you are justified in doing it to him. No problem.
Then if you want to work it out, do so. If not divorce.
Sometimes people have to have a taste of their own medicine.
