This may sound like a STRANGE comment, but by chance does or did your guy attend Antioch College? If so, you may want to look up the 'Antioch Policy'. Basically its a policy enforced on the college's campus wherein EVERY move made by either party leading up to or during sex MUST be clearly defined BEFOREHAND.... this policy is supposed to prevent what is known as "aquaintance rape" (one person assumes that a certain sex act is ok when it isn't, causing the other person to feel offended).
If not, perhaps he's nervous or thinks that u may be.... and its his way of trying to ease that..... if its making you uncomfortable, its obviously a bad idea..... so talk to him but try to avoid any derrogatory terms that will make him feel ashamed.... beleive it or not men are EXTREMELY sensitive about their "game".

I would tell him to knock it off and let's get on with it. I would not do it by the book anymore, I would move that book to a location he cannot get to. By the way, is the book called "The Joy Of Sex"? =D

Maybe he is just nervous and is afraid to do something weird or something that could offend you. Just tell him and ask if you can just go with it.
