i had an ultra sound 19 weeks meausuring 6.44mm but everthing else with the baby seems normal any ideas...

It doesn't always mean Downs or another trisomy ...
sometimes it's a technical error caused by fetal position or even the size ( heavy or thin) of the mother . in some cases it's inexperience of the Tech performing the test . Other times it's limitations of the equiptment ...

the best thing you can do is talk to your OB and see if they reccomend genetic counseling. Plain and simple .

Nuchal thickness is simply an indicator..a POSSIBLE marker for choromosomal abnormlaities. A Doc is gonna read ANY thickness greater than 5mm as " outside of the mean" , which simply means that a re-check , bloodwork , or genetic counseling may better evaluate the situation .
