First, should capitalize "Conservatives" & "Liberals" as they represent a political party. Not all 'conservatives' are members of a political party nor all 'liberals'. Political parties do not have a monopoly on either word.

Actions will as usual speak louder than words. Rhetoric is cheap, action is evidence of good intent.

The phrase, "... our intentions are benign", requires attention. If the writer meant what should that Conservatives do to demonstrate their sincerity, then simple state so!

As mentioned above, the electorate will see the truth by what the parties actually do. We all remember the "GST". Most remember "wage & price control". After parties get in power too soon they forget the promises made. The electorate memory has expanded beyond 4-5 years. Minority parliaments may even force sooner recollection.

If individuals have an open mind they will be persuaded by the action of the government. If their mids are closed nothing will persuade their partisanship.

Intelligent people will see through the smoke & mirrors of the dishonest politician. Memories are no longer short. What "Child Tax Credit"?

Well, you asked, so here goes:

(1) Put a sock in Cheney's mouth. Next time he says something cute like "butt out", have someone slap him.
(2) No more no-bid contracts. Frankly they stink to high heavens.
(3) Clean up the lobbiest problem. Good luck.
(4) Quit trying to userp States Rights. That is the Democratt's job anyway. No, we don't need a constitutional Amendment over gay marraige, "under God", or any other religious matters. The states have been handling that for 200+ years now, let them continue doing it.
(5) When nominating conservative judges, lay off the 'activist judge' slogan, particularly when you are trying to nominate activist judges.
(6) Put the sock you didn't use on Cheney in Pat Robertson's mouth.

So, less sarcasticlally, actually act like you are listening to the other side, don't threaten to alter the constitution, and clean up the perception of corruption (not that both parties don't need that last one)

Wow. you're very liberal in some aspects and intensely conservative in others. Sounds to me such as you would be an self sustaining and then vote for applicants consistent with particular subject concerns particularly than ordinary techniques. the only one that hectic me replace into the only the place you're saying wealthy human beings could be taxed extra advantageous than anybody else. What incentive is there for individuals to make funds in the event that they comprehend that's going to be taken? My husband and that i used to make over $one hundred,000 a 365 days, till we found out that if I stop my interest and did not artwork in any respect we would have extra funds. Now we make much less yet certainly have extra. The "extra you're making the extra we take" doctrine creates much less efficient economies and societies.

Gary
You cannot persuade a liberal because they can only think about their own selfish self interest. As for most independents like me we are just tired of the Republicans looking more and more like the Democrats.

They will be able to fool some of the lower IQ liberals and take them to the dark side with lies and mistruths. The whole world is leaning towards conservatism but it is just the by product of fear caused by 9/11 and the current world tensions. It is a very dangerous place to find security and a feeling of safety.

Good government will persuade most people to vote for progress . We have seen nothing but kept promises and attention to items that the general public thinks are important. It should be a no brainer

It can't be done because actions speak louder than words. The cons say " we will give you a minimum wage raise, if you give us eight billion in tax cuts". The fact is > your intentions are not benign.......period and end of discussion.

By speaking out against those who are giving the right a bad name, just as, in an earlier era, the Americans for Democratic Action (ADA) spoke out, from the left, against the Communists.
