I bought my ball python, Spencer in Helena, MT in November when it was down in the 20's. I kept him warm by keeping him in my shirt.
He wrapped his tali around my bra strap, sunk is middle in my middle and rested his head, well you get the picture.
In the car,, he stayed on me, at my daughters house he played with the grand babes.
He was cage-less for about 8 hours.
He is very alive, fat and happy.
Hope this helps.

how long of a drive is it? I would use a Styrofoam cooler and get a water bottle, the kind that is red rubber and is made to have hot water put in it and used by humans to provide heat for injuries, achy joints etc. Put very, very very hot water in it (or as hot as the manufacturer recommends), place the bottle in a pillowcase or wrapped in a towel so the snake can't get right against it and get burned, and put it in a Styrofoam container with a top, as suggested by another post. This hot water bottle should stay warm for a few hours, if you will be traveling longer then that then, when the bottle gets cold, pull over to a rest area and fill that bottle back up with either very hot tap water or water that would be used if you wanted to make tea ( like from a dispenser) If the rest area serves coffee they should have one of these. You also should get a reptile tank thermometer and place it in the container to be sure it is not too warm or too cold. The important thing is to wrap that hot bottle up with a layer of cloth so if it is too hot, it does not overheat your snake. Also, be sure it doesn't roll around onto your snake on your journey. Happy trails.

When I move or ship ship temp sensitive animals. I use heating packs. Not a plug for any Co. but I usually use Grabber Mycoal. It lasts 24 hrs and is pretty cheap. I see heat pads at most gas stations in colder climates. Just buy one and follow the directions. It should keep you snake nice and warm for the trip. I think the product is mainly used to heat coat pockets and such but I use them for shipping. I have used many different brands and all have worked just fine so use what you have handy. Grabber Mycoal is just what my local store sells. They usually take up to a hour to get the temp up. Most reputable reptile stores ship this way in cold weather. The cons are that they heat small areas only and can burn if they are in close contact. So put them in a deli cup with plenty of holes. Put the deli cup and the snake in a shoe box and you should be good to go. Hope this helps.

It all depends on how (tranportaion wise) you are moving.

When we drove cross-county to move,we put our baby king in on of those rubermaid type shoe boxes with some holes in the top (very small so he can't get out) and shavings in the bottom. Then to help with the cold, I bought some of the heat packs that hunters use in their boots and gloves (any sporting goods store has them) and wrapped them in a hand towel then put the box on the towel in the back seat floor boards. This kept him warm enough at night no matter what, and if I felt he was getting too warm I could take the heat away very easily.

If you are flying, check with your airlines, most will allow small pets on a plane with notice. Then keep a heat pack in your luggage for before and after as I'm not sure of the FAA rules on those.

Good luck, either way he should do fine as long as you are aware of his surroundings and temps.

Any transport container will do as long as it protects the snake and the snake can not escape.. Keep it above freezing and don't overheat it and it should make the trip just fine. And as a thought ... travel with the snake hungry, that way if it does get chilled the food that would normally be in the stomach does not spoil..

Corn Snakes dont need anything special other than a safe package, usually a Deli Cup or Tupperware container small enough to keep it safe and secure but not too big as to stress the animal out. Fill it with their bedding, shredded newspaper, aspen or whatever you use so not to stress the animal out.
As for temperature, get portable heat source such as Hot Hands or ones they sell in Pet Stores(usually ones that carry Herps aka Reptiles). They make heating pads speciffically for Reptiles but you may have to special order them from Big Apple Herp. It will run you around $2-3.00, but shipping may be ridiculous.
They last for hours and can get very hot, up to 110 degrees so be sure to wrap it in paper towels and cover it with bedding. And dont forget that it takes time to warm up too. Set it up at least an hour before your trip.

Simple, cheap answer- Get a coolwhip container or other plastic container with holes in the lid... Or a small critter carrier from a pet shop.

You can get these things at walmart in the outdoor section called "Hot hands," they come in packs of 2 for a buck. Once activated they stay warm for 8 hours, but don't get too hot. Great for winter transport, you can just stick one in the bottom of the container. I also keep a few around in case of emergency (such as winter power outtages)

R U going by car? just keep him with you in the nice warm car- if you can't transport him in his aquarium or cage, get an insulated cooler, put small holes in it and store a warm thermos of coffee in with him (make sure it doesn't roll around)

clean out all of the stuff in his tank . IE bark water bowl, place towels in the tank... get one of those small reptile /hermit crab tanks.. the ones that have the doors on top......if you can get to the store and get those microwavable ice pack things that heat up also.. get a few of those and place the small reptile tank in the middle of you snake tank and put the heat pads next to the Small tank in your big tank and cover all of that with towels... heat your car up before placing tank in the car make sure they dont get a draft of cold air

possibly as disappointed as the massive majority of people who opt for this sort of ban in line with each and every and each poll , and now no longer as disappointed because of the fact the enjoyed ones contributors of those people who're killed quicker or later by utilising way of a few wacko who can get guard of an army weapon easily when you consider that Congress is in simple terms too scared to upward push as much as the NRA.
