Why do some people hate gays/bis/lesbians?

Question

i am personally straight,but i have nothing against gays or bis or lesbians. i dont understand why some people dont like them just because they are attracted to the same gender.

and to people who dislike gays and bis and lesbians:
if your best friend changes his/her orientation, would you still be best friends with them?

I don't personally have anything against gays/bis/lesbians.They are the nicest people to meet.Some people are just scared of different,or think because they are gay they will throw themselves upon them.Try it on.That is not the case at all.
Or they are scared that they will get classed as gay too.Narrow minded people.
