Reinstitute tariffs to level the playing field between China and the US to remove the unfair advantage that slave labor gives China in the global market. China puts a tariff on everything we send there and we don't put any on what they send here. That only exaggerates the already uneven playing field between their labor and ours. That is why America has no manufacturing base anymore.

What makes you think that the State Department has any authority over China? I hope you realize that China is not part of USA. Until about 100 years ago we were slaving the blacks too. It's China's turn now. I sure don't see you complaining about the slavery while buying those cheap shoes from China!

Unless those slaves are American citizens, not a thing.

"Role Abroad

State's mission involves maintaining American leadership in the world. It carries out this mission by negotiation, trade pacts, and cultural exchanges. The centers of the department's activities overseas are its embassies, consulates, and other missions. Embassies are considered to be sovereign U.S. territory, and are protected by the United States Marine Corps.

In addition to its primary responsibilities to the U.S. government, State also facilitates business and private activity abroad by providing passports and monitoring international developments."

Nothing. We're already too busy worrying about the rest of the world, so why lock horns with China?

Try nothing - I've never heard that before so I think I will take that with a pinch of salt (and then totally disbelieve it).
