I stand corrected...his mother died in 1956.

His parents were Mary and Jim. His brother was Michael

He was born in Walton General Hospital in Liverpool.

The address of the home no owned by the National Trust is 20 Forthlin Road.

His mother died of complications of breast cancer in 1956. I don't know of a tragedy in 1955.

He played the trumpet briefly, before taking up guitar.
