She really deserved. That rejection in American Idol and now the Oscars. That is one big step. Her getting the Oscars also showed that it doesn't matter what race you are, if you are capable of achieving your dream. I really hope this ends the racism.

I have mixed emotions about the win. There are actors and actresses that have waited 20 years or more to receive their Oscars... some are still waiting. However, her breakthrough performance does deserve recognition... Now was it Oscar worthy? Some would say yes, and some would say no. Why yes? Because she performed from a place few knew existed inside of her. Why no?, because she hasn't paid her acting dues.. she hasn't beaten the path of going on audition after audition after audition...........
However in my humble opinion, I think it was well deserved. She didn't just breakthrough, she tore through!
She had such chemistry with all of the actors on the silverscreen. Did I mention silverscreen? Not a soap opra appearance or a stint on Wicked Wicked games... I am talking silverscreen here. How hard is it to even get a part in a major picture? Hella hard! And she made the cut. So was her performance Oscar worthy? Yes. Can she do it again?..... Hmmmm
Will she continue acting? That remains to be seen. Will she be successful? If type casted possibly, but if she has an even deeper talent that includes a large range in her acting style, we may be seeing more of Jennifer in a number of films to come.

I think Jennifer Hudson deserved her Oscar because she performed well. For those people saying that she hasn't earned her Oscar dues, let me remind you that Adrien Brody won an Oscar the first time he was nominated too. He won best actor for his part in the Pianist and that was his first Oscar nomination.

No she didn't deserve it she wasn't that great the only reason people say she was great was because she could sing. She is not a great actress she didn't deserve neither an academy award or an Oscar.

I am sooooooooooo happy for her!!!! A slap in the face to Stupid Simon on American Idol. Why is it a debate?? That's stupid, she deserved it! I was so happy for her. The only thing I didn't care for was her top jiggling around...
